About the role

The Greater Cambridge Partnership (GCP) is responsible for transforming Greater Cambridge through a City Deal aimed at unlocking the economic growth potential of the area over the coming decades and realising thousands of new jobs and homes. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be developing projects, including walking, cycling and public transport schemes and ensuring their continued success. The post holder will be required to oversee and manage multimillion pound budgets for transport infrastructure projects, which will have long lasting benefits for people who live, visit and work in Greater Cambridge.

We need someone who is firmly focused on delivery to time and budget and who is prepared to tackle the challenges that come with the unique location and context of Greater Cambridge. Navigating a complex governance environment, you will be politically astute, with the ability to build consensus and credibility with civic, academic and business stakeholders, in order to deliver high levels of impact at a local, sub-regional and national level.

You will require an excellent understanding and experience of infrastructure delivery within a local authority or central Government context.

You’ll be working with a team of experienced project managers from varying backgrounds coming together to deliver key infrastructure projects for the Greater Cambridge area. An exciting environment where you will be encouraged to work independently and develop your skills and experience.

The Greater Cambridge Partnership offers completely flexible working arrangements which includes remote/home working, job share and part time or full-time agreements.

We’re proud to be an inclusive and equal opportunities employer, committed to hiring people based on attitude and merit, regardless of gender identity or expression, ethnic origin, nationality, religion or beliefs, sexual orientation, disability status or any other protected characteristic. We're committed to building a culturally diverse workforce and therefore encourage applications from groups that are underrepresented within the council.
