About the role

The Social Care Support Team delivers personal care and support to service users in accordance with their personalised support/ Reablement plans, empowers adults to enhance their quality of life, maximise potential and to continue to develop independence skills within Littlehey Prison. Please be aware that this role involves caring for the prison population at Littlehey which includes convicted sex offenders.

What will you be doing?

The team works closely with health and social care professionals, who are involved in the care planning and delivery of Reablement care.

The team is based in HMP Littlehey in Perry. The post will require flexible working in pairs, meaning this could include evening and weekend shifts. This post is 30 hours per week. Reablement operate a 365 day service.

About you

For this Social Care Support Worker role although desirable, you don’t need any qualifications in Health and Social Care, just the right attitudes and values to work in a care setting.

However, you will be eager to develop your knowledge of social care and have a willingness to work towards NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care.

We provide full training, so no qualifications are required, and the role has a competitive salary of £21,575 - £21,968 (pro rata for part-time), equivalent to an hourly rate of £11.18 to £11.39 and with enhanced pay rates for Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays.

• Variable hours and working patterns – operating over 7 days a week.

• Enhanced pay rates for weekends, evenings (10pm- 8am) and bank holidays up to double time.

• Up to 30 days’ annual leave entitlement (pro-rata part time), plus bank holidays (pro rata) and subject to length of service

• Professional career development. Including supporting you to gain a Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (for social care support workers)

- An additional fuel allowance of £30 per month has been agreed for the 2022/23 financial year for employees driving over 300 business miles per month
