What will you be doing?
We are looking for Specialist Clinicians that have grounding in CAMHS, Psychology or Psychotherapy clinical experience in the context of Children and Young People who are in care.
• The purpose of the service is to support children who are at risk or are known to be at risk of placement or educational breakdown as well as for those whose level of functioning and relating to children and families severely impacted by the traumatic experiences that they have had.
• The Service is aimed at supporting children and their families in managing their emotional wellbeing, psychological and any other issues and the impact that this has on family functioning.
• You will provide an efficient, effective, comprehensive and specialist clinical service for children and adolescents with emotional, behavioural and mental health problems, their carers/parents and families that are in care.
• You will be part of our wider non-medical Clinical Service which is a multi-disciplinary team where you will access supervision and support. All risk management functions are held by the supervising social workers in their role as corporate parents. The Clinical Team shares risk for any clinical recommendations that it makes supported by the Assistant Director of Safeguarding and Quality Assurance.
The delivery model focusses on therapeutic approaches that are relational, that build strong relationships around the child, increase family regulation, parental sensitivity, attunement, and attachment security to their primary carers, as well as stronger relationships between siblings, and wider family network.
The service understands that no one theoretical therapeutic approach will sufficiently meet the needs of our population, therefore, the service is agile and responds to need in a way that draws upon different theoretical models but will not be restricted to the application of a single theoretical basis.
About you
Postholder Requirements
• We are looking for individuals with a minimum of 2 years’ experience, working in a clinical environment with children and their families, a formal psychology, psychotherapy, OT, or mental health CAMHS nursing qualification to be considered for the role.
• The post-holder will provide specialist assessment and clinical interventions within their professional sphere of expertise.
• They will be responsible for outcome measurement of their caseload.
• They will ensure that a high quality, timely, accessible and evidence-based service is available to all service users who require this input, throughout the boroughs.
• The post-holder will establish and maintain excellent working relationships with wider children’s social care, mental health and wellbeing services and ensure adherence to evidence-based interventions by all clinical staff across the team.
• The post-holder will be directly involved in delivering and supervising a range of clinical interventions, which may include family work, parent work, group work, school observations of children, short term input and specialist psychotherapeutic/clinical intervention.
