About the role

We have an opportunity within the complex needs team at Gladstone Rd resource Centre which provides exceptional and bespoke support to adults with learning disabilities and who require support with complex needs. 

Gladstone Road Resource Centre is situated close Northampton town centre and is a dedicated service with the focus being on supporting those with complex needs. 

Those who access this service (customers) are at the centre of the support that we offer. Within the role you will receive continuous training and support, not only from your management but also the team around you. Who are all highly motivated to deliver the best standards of care and support.

Working: Monday-Friday

What will you be doing?

You will work as part of a team supporting our customers with their day-to-day activities whilst accessing Gladstone Rd, resource Centre.

Customers who access the service, follow a wide and varied range of activities to meet their physical, social and well-being outcomes. Examples of these are swimming or going to the gym. Also accessing, our local community to take part in leisure activities such as bowling, walks, cinema and such. 

When working with Customer’s, care and support is offered on a predetermined ratio of staff to Customers, this can mean supporting customers on 1-1 basis, through to supporting with smaller groups.

 

About you

  • A genuine interest in helping others and making a positive difference in their lives.
  • Being punctual, trustworthy, and consistent in providing care is fundamental.
  • Excellent physical stamina and the ability to work in various environments. As the role may require you at times to assist clients with mobility, including transferring from a bed to a chair. In/out of transportation, as well as recreation activities. 
  • The ability to understand and respond to the emotions and reactions of others. 
  • You will be able to work in an ever-changing environment, under pressure and possess a calm demeanour. 
  • A willingness to support colleagues and work cooperatively, but comfortable working alone too, with our customers. 
  • Willing to complete NVQ Level 2 in Care within 2 years.
  • Ideally a car owner, with business insurance- but this is not essential.

 

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate, at our cost.
