About the role
The SEND Technology Trainer will be working very closely with our SEND Technology Advisor providing specialist technology training to children and young people in schools. At present the role will be providing this training to children/young people in schools in Cambridgeshire although there may be a requirement for travel further afield and at least through the East of England in the future. After the 6 month probation period, there is likely to be an aspect of administration - solely focussed around these two roles providing a valuable service to children and young people.
You will be part of our consultant team, where we also have experts in Data Protection and GDPR, school management information systems, safeguarding and e-safety, and Online Learning.
The ICT Service is a charging service within Cambridgeshire County Council, with 45 staff. We operate on a commercial footing, where we market and sell our services to schools, and, in the case of our SEND Technology work, to the County Council on behalf of schools.
Note that initially this is a 24 month contract.

What will you be doing?
Duties (not exhaustive, please see the Job Description and Person Specification attached to this advertisement):
- 1:1 SEND Specialist teaching/training
- Read/Interpret EHCP and Technology Assessment reports to inform how training is delivered
- Travel to different educational settings within East of England to deliver training
- Provide remote training sessions where appropriate
- Organise, prepare and identify clear outcomes for every training session
- Ensure communications are clear and concise
- Adapt and keep up to date with new software and other relevant ICT developments
- Administrative work to schedule training sessions and assessments at mutually convenient times
