We currently have an exciting opportunity for a number of flexible, relief roles based in various locations across the county. The post will involve supporting adults with learning disabilities in keeping their lives independent and safe.

Locations include: Cambridge City Centre, Huntingdon, Ely and March

Cambridgeshire County Council is committed to providing high-quality care and support to adults with learning disabilities in their own homes. Our services are residential and supported living providing accommodation and support for adults with learning disabilities. The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

This is a rolling campaign, and we will review applications daily so please don't wait for the closing date to apply. Starting salary for the role is £11.18 per hour. We pay enhancements for weekends and Bank Holidays.

The successful candidate will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check pre-employment health check and references.

What will you be doing?

Relief Support Workers will assist service users with all aspects of their care, with an emphasis on empowering them to develop and maintain their independence, skills and well-being. A good understanding of equal opportunities and a person-centred approach with diversity are all essential.

Relief Support Workers will be in regular contact with service users, families other professionals and partner agencies, therefore the role will require you to have excellent verbal and written communication skills including IT skills. You will also need to have a sensitive and professional approach showing understanding of confidentiality in and outside of the workplace.

The role will involve administration of medication and the provision of personal care. These roles are a zero-hour based contract which provides you with the flexibility to manage your working hours and days. Relief support workers are vital when covering shifts and meeting service needs and a great asset to all teams across the county.
