We’re therefore looking for a passionate and technically skilled Climate Consents Officer to help us get there.

In this pivotal role, you’ll provide expert advice on carbon emissions and climate risk across major planning applications and infrastructure projects. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure climate considerations are embedded in everything we do from policy development to project delivery.

This is a great opportunity to join a supportive and friendly team working across a number of Council's functions. If you are looking to make a real impact in a forward-thinking local authority committed to climate leadership and innovation, this could be a great role for you

Our office base is Sackville House, Cambourne, with flexibility to work in alternative Council office locations, as well as homeworking.

Managing and delivering climate-related projects aligned with our Climate Change and Environment Strategy will be a key part of the role along with contributing to the Council’s Climate Training Programme, including Carbon Literacy Training.

You will be required to support with funding bids and help shape innovative, evidence-based climate initiatives.

About you
