About the role

This is an exciting time to join the Sustainability Team and help deliver the Sustainable West Northants Project – an ambitious approach to protecting and improving the local environment, economy and society for future generations. Spearheaded by West Northamptonshire Council and partners across the area, the project aims to ensure everyone is working towards the same objectives and targets to deliver a sustainable future. 

To ensure delivery of this key project we are seeking to recruit a passionate and knowledgeable project officer, who will work alongside existing members of the Sustainability team to help us deliver our vision of a Sustainable West Northamptonshire. 

What will you be doing?

You will take responsibility for delivery of a range of sustainability projects which will contribute towards the Council's wider sustainability ambitions. Additionally, you will deliver comprehensive and effective project support within the Place, Economy and Environment Directorate as necessary.

This will include producing reports, strategy and policy documents at the request of the project team, specifically within the Place, Economy and Environment Directorate, to an exceptionally high standard.

About you

About you 

Passionate about the environment and sustainability you will enjoy working within a team environment whilst also being confident to work alone when needed. Ideally you will have experience and knowledge of sustainability, its application within an organisational setting and be able to take responsibility for delivery of project objectives. You will be confident producing reports, strategy and policy documents to a high standard and ensure they are suitable for the target audience. You’ll use your attention to detail to undertake research and analyse the data to help inform and support delivery of the Project.  

You will need

 
• A sound understanding or experience of sustainability 
• Ability to work independently, using own initiative 
• Ability to prioritise and work efficiently 
• To enjoy the challenge of contributing to and helping deliver innovative projects 
• Excellent attention to detail and computer skills 
• Experience of data analysis and producing reports 
• Experience of project management 
• Great communication skills 
• Excellent customer service skills to ensure our colleagues and partners have a positive experience
