We’re looking for applicants with enthusiasm and creativity, especially those with skills or interests in activities like exercise, arts and crafts, gardening, cooking, and music. You’ll also help service users access community resources and engage in local life.

For more information or an informal chat, please contact Nigel Holland on 01480 377 699 or email HCC@cambridgeshire.gov.uk

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

What will you be doing?

As a Support Worker, you will assist service users with all aspects of their care, with a strong focus on providing engaging activities and empowering individuals to maintain their independence and wellbeing.

You will work alongside adults with learning disabilities, autism, or physical disabilities, supporting their care and social needs. This includes delivering and facilitating meaningful activities, supporting communication and personal care needs, administering medication, promoting health, wellbeing, and independence and completing risk assessments and updating personal records.

Experience in a similar role is welcome, but we also encourage applications from those with transferable skills from other sectors such as education, healthcare, or customer service. Full training and support will be provided.

We offer a supportive team environment, comprehensive training and development opportunities, career progression pathways and the chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others.
