About the role

An opportunity has arisen to join our busy Local Land Charges Team providing a professional customer focused Service on behalf of the Council. As a Local Land Charges Officer, you will be responsible for processing and providing accurate and timely local authority searches. If you thrive on working in a busy environment, providing excellent customer service and are used to working to tight deadlines we would love to hear from you.

The role will be based at Municipal Offices, Bowling Green Road, Kettering and then Haylock House, Kettering.

What will you be doing?

  • You will deliver a customer-focused and reliable Local Land Charges Service processing official and personal searches by interrogating systems, documents and plans, and updating records as required. 
  • You will respond to enquiries received by email and telephone in relation to the service you provide. 
  • You will update and maintain the Local Land Charges Register in accordance with the Local Land Charges Act 1975 and the Local Land Charges Rules 1977. 
  • There will be the opportunity to take part in projects both Council wide and at service level to improve and develop the services offered.  

About you

Successful applicants will have excellent communication and IT skills. You will have an analytical approach to work with the ability to interpret maps and work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines whilst maintaining attention to detail and have strong organisational skills. You will be an effective team player, but capable of working on your own initiative and be able to develop and maintain good working relationships with a wide range of customers and stakeholders.

Previous experience of working within a Local Land Charges team would be desirable but not essential as comprehensive training will be provided.
