About the role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a part time role (20 hours) based in Ely. The post  will involve supporting adults with learning disabilities in keeping their lives independent and safe.

Jasmine House is an excellent location as it is walking distance to Ely Centre with all its shops, restaurants and amenities. It also has great travel links and excellent bus routes. There is also some on-site parking for staff.

Starting salary for the role is £11.18 - £11.39 per hour. We pay enhancements for weekends and Bank Holidays.

Cambridgeshire County Council is committed to providing high-quality care and support to adults with learning disabilities in their own homes. Our services are residential and supported living providing accommodation and support for adults with learning disabilities. The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

What will you be doing?

Support Workers will assist service users with all aspects of their care, with an emphasis on empowering them to develop and maintain their independence, skills and well-being. A good understanding of equal opportunities and a person-centred approach with diversity are all essential.

The role will involve administration of medication and the provision of personal care. As part of your role your hours will include: 

- Shift pattern 8-3, 11.30-17.30 and  3-10pm, with a combination of late and early shifts.
- Bank Holidays

You will also need to be flexible as may need to work in one of the services that we have in Cambridgeshire.

About you

Support Workers will be in regular contact with service users, families other professionals and partner agencies, therefore the role will require you to have excellent verbal and written communication skills including IT skills. You will also need to have a sensitive and professional approach showing understanding of confidentiality in and outside of the workplace.
