About the role

The Greater Cambridge Partnership (GCP) is responsible for transforming Greater Cambridge through a City Deal aimed at unlocking the economic growth potential of the area over the coming decades and realising thousands of new jobs and homes.

The development and delivery of major transport infrastructure is vital to the future economic wellbeing of Greater Cambridge. The GCP Transport programme is a cornerstone of the City Deal initiative and aims to develop a sustainable transport network for Greater Cambridge that keeps people, business and ideas connected as the area continues to grow.

What will you be doing?

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be developing one or more of our exciting projects such as the Greater Cambridge Greenways or the City Access Programme. The post holder will be required to oversee and manage multimillion pound budgets for transport projects, which will have long lasting benefits for people who live, visit and work in Greater Cambridge.

You will be working with a team of experienced project managers from varying backgrounds coming together to deliver key infrastructure projects for the Greater Cambridge area. An exciting environment where you will be encouraged to work independently and develop your skills and experience.

About you

We need someone who is firmly focused on delivery to time and budget and who is prepared to tackle the challenges that come with the unique location and context of Greater Cambridge. Navigating a complex governance environment, you will be politically astute, with the ability to build consensus and credibility with civic, academic and business stakeholders, in order to deliver high levels of impact at a local, sub-regional and national level. Experience in construction will be very beneficial for this role.

You will require an excellent understanding and experience of infrastructure delivery within a local authority or central Government context.

About us
