About the role

Huntingdon Supported Living & Respite is based in the town of Huntingdon and the village of Wyton and supports tenants living in bungalows at St Lukes Close Huntingdon and Splash Lane Wyton.

The role of Support Worker is to enable adults with a disability to live as independently as possible, and to enjoy lifestyles as close to those enjoyed by other members of the community.

We support and empower individuals to enhance the quality of their life, maximise potential and to continue to promote and develop independence skills within their home or whilst staying at respite.

This vacancy is for zero hour contracts to cover staff absence.

What will you be doing?

You will report to the Senior Support worker and work in a small team to provide practical support, you will build on their existing skills and abilities whilst respecting their individual needs and choices.

This includes supporting with personal care where needed, cleaning, shopping, and accessing community activities and opportunities. The role will involve administration of medication.

You will be using IT to update documents such as support plans, risk assessments and will have a knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and assessments of capacity.

You will work on a zero hour contract to meet service need. These will be during the week, at weekends or Bank Holidays (between 8am- 10pm.), additional enhancements of are paid for weekends and Bank Holidays.

Pay rates are: Saturday £18.27 per hr, Sunday £21.68 per hr & Bank Holiday £24.36 per hr.

About you

No formal qualifications are essential, but a good standard of education is required. There is a requirement to complete an induction which may include the Care Certificate and/or Level 2 Health & Social Care qualification.
