About the role

West Northamptonshire Educational Psychology Service is seeking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic and innovative Educational Psychologist to join our Senior Leadership Team.

West Northamptonshire is still a new Unitary council – and there is an opportunity for us to shape the future of the educational psychology service through co-constructing with our stakeholders and developing the team together. We are at a point where we are working to embed our priorities and values as we move forward, and we are seeking a motivated Senior Educational Psychologist to help support and develop our plans.

The Service is very well regarded and supported within the council, which has a strong focus on values-based practice and supporting staff wellbeing. We are ready to embark on a journey of development and growth and we are looking for enthusiastic and creative people to join a Senior Leadership Team, supporting an ethos of distributed leadership across the Service, helping shape the direction of our EP colleagues to be the best they can be.

The service will provide you with a comprehensive induction and CPD programme and regular professional supervision.

We have extensive links with training universities, with two members of our EP team employed as tutors on EP training courses, along with links to local universities.

We look forward to hearing from applicants who have:

  • An interest in developing innovative and creative practice
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A commitment to improving the life chances of others, and particularly those from vulnerable and/or marginalised groups
  • An ability to work collaboratively with different professionals

Applicants will need to be professionally qualified and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

If you would like an informal discussion about the role, and the new directions which the Service is taking, please email Deb Page, Interim Principal Educational Psychologist deborah.page@westnorthants.gov.uk or Gavin Morgan, Senior Educational Psychologist and tutor at University College London – gavin.morgan@westnorthants.gov.uk
