About the role

As the Head of Service for the Coroners and Registration Services you will act as the senior professional lead with responsibility for providing inclusive and compassionate leadership, as well as managing and developing both services to ensure the highest quality services are delivered.

You will be accountable for the performance of the Services and work with colleagues, and external partners to ensure appropriate operating practices, policies, plans, contracts, and strategies are effective, embedded, and meet both legal and corporate governance requirements.

In your professional lead capacity, you will monitor regulatory landscape changes and ensure arrangements are in place to meet new requirements and to take advantage of future opportunities.

What will you be doing?

The Head of Coroners and Registration Services will

  • Provide operational leadership to the Coronial and Registration Services teams
  • Lead service development and change
  • Ensure statutory duties are delivered and performance requirements are met, monitored and reported
  • Act as the Proper Officer representative for the Registration Service
  • Provide robust resource and financial management 
  • Produce service delivery plans, committee reports and briefings  
  • Develop strong internal and external collaborative partnerships
  • Ensure necessary infrastructure requirements, including contracts are in place through commissioning to meet the needs of the services and its customers.
