About the role

As a result of recent changes to the service, Cambridgeshire County Council is looking to appoint two Commissioning Officers, one on a permanent basis within the Mental Health, Learning Disability and Autism Team and one on a 12 month Fixed Term basis within the Accommodation Team within the Adults, Health and Commissioning Directorate.   

The posts will be based in our offices at Alconbury/Huntingdon and we offer hybrid working, supported by flexible and agile working practices. Some travel will be required across the county.

Interviews are planned to be held during week commencing 15th July or week commencing 22nd July 2024.

What will you be doing?

  • Working as part of a wider team, you will support Commissioning Managers to deliver efficient and effective operation of the Adults, Health & Commissioning function with a specialism in Adult Social Care, ensuring delivery of strategic priorities and commissioning intentions.  

  • Support the Commissioning Managers with the development and implementation of commissioning plans, project plans, documents and strategies across the commissioning cycle.  

  • Support market management and the ongoing development of service provision and quality through facilitating effective collaboration, coproduction and joint working throughout the procurement process, including service user and stakeholder engagement events.  

About you

  • An excellent communicator with the ability to build effective working relationships with a range of internal and external partners and stakeholders.  

  • Good attention to detail and the ability to present information clearly and concisely to a range of people.   

  • An agile thinker with the ability to effectively prioritise and problem solve on a wide range of issues.   

  • Understanding of the pressures and opportunities facing local authorities and the adult social care market in Cambridgeshire.  

  • Prior commissioning experience, while desirable, is not essential for the right candidate(s) with appropriate transferrable skills.  

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
