About the role

We are looking for Social Workers to join us in the Disability Social Care 0-25 Service, part of our Disabled Children’s Referral and Access Team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a lively and dynamic team which acts as the first point of contact for all new referrals for disabled children requiring a social care assessment across Cambridgeshire.

The role offers excellent training opportunities and a chance to play a real part in the creation of something great. We know that an important part of being a Social Worker is making a difference, and when you work in the Disabled Children Referral and Access Team, you really can.

One of our Social Workers said…

“I joined the Disabled Children Referral and Access Team almost 2 years ago without any front door assessment experience and received all the support needed to become an effective practitioner”

Our team covers the whole of Cambridgeshire, with an office based in Huntingdon. All staff have an allocated work base, being your main place of work, but you can access many of our corporate buildings across Cambridgeshire to work, hold and attend meetings.

This is a rolling campaign, and we will review applications daily so please don't wait for the closing date to apply, we want to speak to you now!

We know that your time is precious, so our interviews can be held virtually, by Microsoft Teams, to provide the most flexible recruitment process. We may include a virtual assessment as part of this, but we’ll give you all of the relevant information ahead of time.

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
