About the role
This senior leadership role, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective delivery of statutory safeguarding and support functions, directly impacting the lives of children and families. As part of the leadership team, you will lead and develop services in line with the Councils/Trusts objectives and the national agenda. You will work productively with partners to ensure the effectiveness of our safeguarding services.
What will you be doing?
You will provide professional management and critical challenge and support
ensuring that statutory and regulatory requirements are met in relation to safeguarding
children and in relation to the assessment, review, and care planning for children in need
and children in care. They will continually drive practice improvements to ensure good
practice is embedded across the service

About you
- You must have a BA in Social Work or Diploma in Social Work, CQSW or CSS, or other professional social work qualification recognised by Social Work England
- Extensive experience in a leadership role within child safeguarding or social care.
- Proven experience in service delivery and performance management, including strategic planning and resource management.
- Experience in leading inspections and preparing action plans for regulatory outcomes (e.g., Ofsted).
- Excellent communication and partnership working skills, including engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
- A passion for driving service improvement and ensuring the best outcomes for children and families.
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate. It is also a regulated activity and will be subject to a Barred List check.
