About the role
You will undertake the collection and disposal of all waste (including mixed dry recycling, food waste, garden waste and residual waste) from residential and commercial premises throughout the district. Waste Collection is one of our front line services, and we need to ensure that we provide the best possible service at all times.
What will you be doing?
You will be required to drive a 26 tonne waste collection vehicle and will need a Class C licence. There will be an element of vehicle cleaning and light maintenance as we always ensure our vehicles are in excellent condition.
You could be working outside in all weathers and will be required to empty bins as well as drive.
The role involves dealing with members of the public and answering their queries.
About you
You will hold a Class C driving licence, tacho graph card, and up to date Driver CPC qualification.
You will be physically fit as the role can be quite demanding and you may have to walk approximately 12 miles per day.
You should enjoy working outside with a small team, be self driven and able to work on own initiative. You should have a flexible approach to work and a positive attitude as the role can be varied.
