We are looking for enthusiastic, energetic and inspiring people to join our team. You will need to be prepared to learn new skills, working both independently and with colleagues in the Sensory Support Team, as well as mainstream school staff.

Your new role will include:

  • Delivering training to schools
  • Working closely with VI children/young people
  • Supporting the Teacher of the Vision Impaired
  • Assessing the skills and awareness of the environment in preparation for independent mobility.
  • Planning a training programme appropriate to the individual child/young person’s needs and current environment.
  • Teaching mobility and orientation skills taking into account mobility needs

Your new salary will be on the Grade 6 Spinal Column Points 18-22 Local Government Employees scale £27,344 - £29,439 pro rata
